| Osprey Nest Near Emerson Point Preserve Observation Tower |
The Osprey at Emerson Point Preserve have been in their nests for a couple of weeks now. There are three nesting platforms that can be seen from the main entrance road, and I have noticed that all three are currently in use.
I have been watching these great birds at Emerson Point since last October when I recognized that they were persistently fishing the same areas at the same time every day. Lately, they seem to be present at all times of the day.
This, to me, is excellent news for the preserve. The way I see it is that it is doing its job. These birds have found a place to call home, and we have created a place that we can go and enjoy them.
These photos were taken on February 21, 2011 around Noon.
